[nylug-workshop] Workshop meeting tomorrow! October 17th!

Hi everyone,
Understandably, due to the proposed change of venues and the
subsequent confusion, the last meeting was smaller than the original
meetings.
So, to make it clear *tomorrow is on*
The last meeting involved a first look at Dan's DTK. The examples he
posted to the list were a lot of fun to play with, and easy to
experiment with.
During tomorrows session I'd like to go through the examples Dan sent
to this list, filling in the gaps Dan left, then solicit everyone for
further ideas and projects for DTK. Some ideas are a front-end for the
database that Mark proposed for his pulp books.
Speaking of databases, sqlite isn't the only easy-to-use object
layer. You can avoid using some amount of SQL in code by using, for
example, sqlobject:
http://www.sqlojbect.org/
See an example here:
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/library/os-pythonsqlo/index.html?ca=drs
and it can be used with sqlite as well.
Let's go into the next session talking about these things.
Also, please shout out to the list if you're planning on coming
tomorrow night, OK?
Thanks!
-Peter
