Frankly, for your uses any distro will do. I would consider the
following (no particular order):
1) Ubuntu (Dapper or Gutsy) Dapper for the long term support version,
or Gutsy to get newer features... at this point they are both going to
be End Of SUpport next year, so it doesn't really matter)
2) Debian (Etch)
2) Gentoo (2007.0)
3) CentOS (5.1)
4) Arch (2007.08)
5) Fedora (8)

These are all "community supported" distros that Web developers tend
to deploy on, and they are all popular enough that you should be able
to get the support you need. Frankly I don't think you can go wrong
with any of the above. (I use OpenSolaris and Ubuntu myself for
deploying webapps and mysql).

P.S. - OpenSUSE probably should be on the list, based on it's overall
popularity, but I personally don't know many people running it.
P.S.S. - I assumed you are looking to deploy on an all open source
application stack. (IE: No Oracle, no PeopleSoft). If you do need to
run these commercial apps, you need to let us know, because the
choices will be much narrower.
