Subject: Assistance requested for Parrot testing
I've been part of the Parrot VM project for nearly a year-and-a-half now and am
particularly involved in the testing aspect. We have thorough smoke testing on
Linux and FreeBSD and, since many of our project members work on Mac notebooks,
somewhat good smoke testing on Darwin as well. But beyond that, our smoke test
coverage is unsatisfactory.
Since our objective is to be able to eventually build Parrot on all the same
platforms that Perl 5 builds on (save those that are obsolete), we can benefit
from input from anyone familiar with OSes beyond those mentioned above.
I would be eager to work with anyone in the NYC area who can either (a) assist
us with automated smoke testing or (b) provide me with a shell account where I
could conduct Parrot testing on any of these operating systems:
Solaris (or OpenSolaris)
Win32
OpenBSD
I say "in the NYC area" because it's easier to get efforts like these going if
there's some F2F contact -- and it's also easier to express my gratitude in
beer.
Please contact me off-list if you can help and are interested. Thank you very
much.
Jim Keenan
