I upgraded to opensuse 10.3

When I run startkde from a terminal session in VNC
I get
/usr/lib/libXft.so.2: undefined symbol FT_Library_SetLcdFilter

a window pops up and says
Could not start kdeinit, Check your Installation
(with an 'Okay' button)

  I did:  ldd /opt/kde3/lib/libkdeui.so.4
on this system and one that works (10.1 relesase)

         libXft.so.2 => /usr/lib/libXft.so.2 (0xb6e08000)
         libfreetype.so.6 => /usr/local/lib/libfreetype.so.6 (0xb6da5000)
         libexpat.so.1 => /lib/libexpat.so.1 (0xb6d83000)
   ** ==>libXdmcp.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXdmcp.so.6 (0xb6e0f000)
         libXau.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXau.so.6 (0xb6d7f000)

** libXdmcp.so.6 is missing on the setup that doesn't work.

I have a couple of questions.

is there a command I can run to get a list of symbols in
the /usr/lib/libXdmcp.so.6?

and if there's a FT_Library_SetLcdFilter in that lib
is there some way I can edit /etc/ld.so.conf and
make it use the libXdmcp.so.6 shared library

Thanks in advance for any help
