I have two identical servers and the only difference between the
configuration on each of them is that when I run lspci to see the SCSI
controller card I have a control setting that is different. Now is
there a possibility of changing this setting?
I run lspci on one server and I get:
06:02.1 SCSI storage controller: Adaptec AHA-3960D / AIC-7899A U160/m (rev 01)
Subsystem: Compaq Computer Corporation Compaq 64-Bit/66MHz
Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter
Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV+
VGASnoop- ParErr+ Stepping- SERR+ FastB2B-
Status: Cap+ 66Mhz+ UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium
>TAbort- SERR- [disabled] [size=128K]
Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2
Flags: PMEClk- DSI- D1- D2- AuxCurrent=0mA
PME(D0-,D1-,D2-,D3hot-,D3cold-)
Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME-
00: 05 90 c0 00 57 01 b0 02 01 00 00 01 10 40 80 80
10: 01 58 00 00 04 00 e6 fd 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
20: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 11 0e 20 f6
30: 00 00 00 00 dc 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 02 28 19
And on the second server I have:
06:02.1 SCSI storage controller: Adaptec AHA-3960D / AIC-7899A U160/m (rev 01)
Subsystem: Compaq Computer Corporation Compaq 64-Bit/66MHz
Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter
Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV+
VGASnoop- ParErr+ Stepping- SERR+ FastB2B-
Status: Cap+ 66Mhz+ UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium
>TAbort- SERR- [disabled] [size=128K]
Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2
Flags: PMEClk- DSI- D1- D2- AuxCurrent=0mA
PME(D0-,D1-,D2-,D3hot-,D3cold-)
Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME-
00: 05 90 c0 00 56 01 b0 02 01 00 00 01 10 40 80 80
10: 01 58 00 00 04 00 e6 fd 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
20: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 11 0e 20 f6
30: 00 00 00 00 dc 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 02 28 19
Now the difference between them is in the Control parameter, where in
one I/O has a plus and on the other one it has a minus. Is there a way
to change this setting? This is a RedHat box.
Appreciate any assistance with this matter.
