[nylug-talk] recommendations on donating equipment

Hello -

After a move to a data center we have about 10 working rackmount
batteries APC Smart-UPS 1400 and 1500s. And 2 Nortel Baystack 5510-24T
Switches. We attempted to auction then twice on eBay and were
unsuccessful. Not surprised as I am not sure if I wwould buy ethernet
switches or ups batteries items on auction - even with a deep
discount.

I've floated the idea of donating them to charity and getting a tax
writeoff, etc.

Can anyone recommend an org that does this? Or that might need this stuff?

I have found a few to try on google (isa.org, recycle.org) but I
wouldn't be surprised if nylug had knowledge in this area that a
google search might miss...

The equip is in Hoboken, 1.5 miles from midtown Manhattan.

cheers

Michael
