[nylug-talk] Distro Recommendation... for an old, cruddy machine.

The glories of water damage have finally done in Ol' Betsy (version
6.93)... thank you broken Quick-Connect in the upstairs bathroom...

Now, I'm sitting on a horrible, horrible ol' Dell... which I'm about
to toss for a less horrible old Mobo that clocks in at a whoppin' 987
MHz... the only memory that I have that'll fit in the ol' bird are 2
sticks that'll give me a grand total of 256mb of memory... a PCI ATI
Radeon 9200 video card I managed to salvage is also up in that beast.
;)

Now, I did a test install of Ubuntu on the "new" system... she
upgraded to 7.10 off of an old 7.04 (took her forever and a day..)

So figure she'll take an install of XP Pro I have lying around, then I
can slap on a Linux distro so that she won't bloat too quickly...

Query:

What Distro would you savvy Linux Shills drop on a sub-1-GHz, 256MB, 120gig HD?

I have a copy of Damn Small Linux, but I'm having difficulties getting
DSL to act as a fully enabled system (you know, for pr0n).

Recommendations are thanked for in advance... and I'd rather save my
pennies to buy a new box in the near future... rather than spend any
real cash on this Ol' Girl.
