And I have a collection of old crap too. Mostly Tandy/Radio Shack gear. It's what I first learned Unix om a quarter of a century ago in the guise of Xenix, the officially licensed port of Unix by the company that later became the Evil Empire. Since Microsoft was not competent to make it an end-user product, they sublet it to Altos, IBM, Tandy and the Santa Cruz Operation (not to be confused with the SCO Group that's going titsup). Tandy shipped it with our 68k systems, the TRS-80 Model 16 and Tandy 6000. I have a T6kHD in the basement, runs console plus two terminals with a single meg of RAM and a 15Mb HD on a 8Mhz 68000 cpu. No ethernet ever available for it, serial is what I got.
One of the two terminals is an AT&T 7300 (10 Mhz 68010, 3.5 Mb RAM) emulating a VT100 but I can also play Rogue and other games locally on my second-favorite keyboard. The other terminal is a Tandy 2000 (8Mhz 80186) with my absolutely favorite keyboard ever running Softerm
I back up my Xenix and AT&T Unix PC systems to a Linux box with uucp. I'm not sure, but I may be the only person still using uucp in the NYC metro area. Most linux folks can't even spell uucp.
It's getting late. Time to finish up my blog entry on the TRS-80 Model 100 (1 Mhz 80C85 cpu, 32k RAM), ymodem it to the main Linux server and give it to the world.
Some folks think I'm some strange. Some folks (not necessarily the same ones) may be right. My oldest computer will turn 30 this year. Yes, it still works fine, as do a dozen others dating from the late 70s to the mid 80s without MS-DOS.

Well, if you're gonna buy a ticket on the Titanic, you might as well go First Class.
