Thank you for giving me the chance to ride my hobby horse.

Sure, once you've installed the *correct* bloated pig of a JVM, *and*
configured your environment so your app finds the right JVM (out of
the handful of JVMs which get autoinstalled onto a typical desktop
machine during its life), *then* you stand a good chance of running
your java app.

So instead of fiddling with getting your app running, you need to
fiddle with getting java running.  Doesn't seem like a major win to
me.....
