[nylug-talk] Ubuntu: Not Connected? Printer may not be connected

Greetings.  Happy new year.

I wonder if anyone has experiences, good or bad,
with printing from Ubuntu?

I installed Ubuntu on this machine because it supported PSC-1310.
When the new Ubuntu came out, I did dist-upgrade - to 7.10

I have found that printing generally works.
But every so often the system forgets that the printer is there.

I get this:
Not Connected?  Printer PSC... may not be connected

Rebooting the printer resolves it.

Any thoughts?
