I think you're focusing on the wrong question. The question, as I see
it, is "do you want people to read your messages". The majority of the
posts here are for people to read and comment on. Eventually people
care what you think and write because you've written things that
matter. That's why a lot of people keep subscribed to this list,
right?
Anyway, underlying most of the rules for the list is to please
consider the time of the other people on the list, and their
respective sanity (sanities?). We want nylug-talk to have interesting
things, not to be a workout for everyones scroll/pagedown/spacebar
fingers.
