   Hmm.  Well, this probably won't work for you, Ron, but for the rest of us I 
guess it's better to make a set of filters to redirect undesirable senders 
from the list to the trash.  It's despiration no doubt, and I don't like it, 
but it's better than universally unsubscribing.

   So filtering on a "List-Id" of "nylug-talk.nylug.org"  AND  "From" 
of "<someone's email address>" -> send-to-folder "Trash" should do the trick.  
This way the sender being filtered can still mail you privately, if need be.

   The magic underlying message for me that triggers this seems to be an issue 
with a reply with anything akin to "My mind is made up and I am not 
listening."  It's something that is almost never said, so until now I've 
never filtered anybody.
   Oh well.  Things change.
