Well, the problem isn't with the DSL carrier, it is with the copper to
my apartment.  I live over in Greenpoint and Speakeasy tried really hard
to get this line to work. I don't have a problem with Speakeasy, I would
have used them if I could.  I was trying to get a dry line from them, so
that might be part of the problem.  I live too far from the CO, or the
loop was too long, and the signal wasn't good enough to handle DSL.  So
my problem is more with Verizon.  Now, I guess things could be better on
a regular wet line, but I don't want to have the added expense of a
phone line when I don't need it.  So cable is about the only solution
for me right now, at least until FIOS comes out.
