Did you try all possible cominations? 
old ram + new ram = bad
old ram = good
new ram = ????
if the last one works then maybe there is an incompatibliliy between the
two types but the new ram is compatible.
but if they last one doesnt, then its the hardware or the new ram which
lead to you returning the new ram.
