[nylug-talk] Some additional topics for the Tonight's OpenSolaris User Group Meeting

I am sure you have seen the invite by now, (I attached it below).

In addition to the agenda that Isaac has already sent out, I will be
spending about ten minutes covering ways to get involved in this user
group, as well as ways to get involved with other OpenSolaris user
initiatives.

Some topics I plan to bring up at the meeting:

- Mentoring - We are looking at starting a new mentoring program. We
are looking for Seniors that would be interested in mentoring Juniors.
(Developers and sysadmins). Please email me if you are interested.
- System administration community group is looking to expand
membership. syadmin-discuss-subscribe at opensolaris.org
- Volunteering to help build a new OpenSolaris user portal, as well as
an NYOSUG.org website. (email me if you are interested in either.)
- I will be launching/announcing a virtual development lab next month,
that will allow anyone who is interested in developing OpenSolaris to
gain free access to VMWare ESX VMs. Let me know if you are interested
in either helping administer ESX, or if you want access to a VM. (It's
not setup yet).
- We can use help planning these UG meetings. Mail Isaac or myself

- I am going to the first OpenSolaris Developers Summit, and will have
more to report next month.

This month's NYCOSUG [New York OpenSolaris User Group] meeting is on
Tuesday, September 25th 2007.

The featured topic will be "Virtualisation, SPARC innovations,
Community" with
our guest speaker Tom Atwood - Group Manager, SPARC Systems Marketing
Organization.  Tom will
be a panelist at InfoWorld's Virtualization Executive Forum in NYC.

Solaris Express Developer Edition 9/07 is expected to release soon, it
will likely be based on Nevada build 70b
and, barring any unexpected changes between now and then, we will be
