Is there anyway I could find out sooner when the next meetings dates will be? I bought a ticket to go to NY on Fri Sep 28. I bought this ticket several weeks ago. I could have easily made it for Sep 26 or Sep 27, if I had known sooner.

As circumstances would have it, yes, we are meeting on the night of the
MAKE meeting, which I'm told "sold out" almost immediately, so I gather
there's going to be people at NYLUG after all. ;) People in NYLUG tend
to wait until the last minute to RSVP for things, I speak with some
authority on that.

This part is a follow-up announcement for everyone:
Please be advised that Google now wishes to have a "cleaner list" for
RSVP, and will bar from meetings at Google, anyone who is on the list
and fails to attend 3 times. So from now on, when in doubt, cancel your
RSVP *BEFORE IT CLOSES* because *ONCE THE LIST IS CLOSED IT IS
IMMUTABLE*. Sorry to shout, but those two things seem to be the least
understood things about the RSVP list. Once the list goes to Google,
there's no changing to be done. No getting on the list, no getting off
the list. Just like it was at IBM.

Until further notice, here's the protocol:

   1. RSVP if you're coming.
   2. Un-RSVP if you change your mind and the list hasn't closed.
   3. If you're not sure if you'll be able to make it, un-RSVP and just
      show up at the meeting.

In case number three is unclear, the policy about showing up and not
being on the list hasn't changed. You will be able to sign in and come
to the meeting with only a minor inconvenience. Yes, I'm well aware of
the irony.
