What an odd week for copyright:
The US alters theirs to ease restrictions to allow the downloading of
dvds and Germany, besides the recent banning of 'security software', now
attacks personal use of copyrighed content like some other
countries(Brazil and Australia, iirc)! Sheesh! Anyone joined the
American branch of the pirate party, yet?

Morgan Hill, Calif. - A trade group of consumer electronics firms, technology
developers and movie studios this week approved a new technology that will
allow consumers to burn movies they download from online services to DVDs that

o German Copyright Law Updated to Ban Most Copying of DVDs, CDs 

Berlin - The German government on Friday approved an update to its copyright
law that essentially makes it illegal to make copies of movies and music, even
