Hi Ben,
Chances are your DSL provider is using a connection protocol called PPPoE to
establish the DSL service. However your previous cable connection did not
use this and so your linux machine was never configured to use PPPoE
Use whatever graphical wizards Fedora Core 1 and select the PPPoE option when
configuring your network connection. Keep your DSL username and password
handy, you will be needing it.
And yeah ... do try upgrading to a newer release of Fedora :)
