More help will make for more betterer videos!

Larry went over the bulk of this already, but I wanted to touch upon
seeding and sustainability a little. At the point where we announce the
availability of a video, it's already been seeded 2 or more times to get
the ball rolling. Ideally, we'll get these things on at least one
server permanently, so that the stray copy here and there will always
get served up, and in a reasonably timely fashion. That's not really
what I'm concerned about so much as the brand-new stuff where 100 people
might all want to download it during the same "short" time interval,
where I'm guessing that interval would be somewhere between a week and a
month.
For that period of time, I'd like to ask that if you download a copy of
a video, to follow the usual "politeness" rules at the least (serve out
as many bytes as you pull) and to keep their BT client up after they've
got the entire video file (seeding) for a week or so. I have no idea
how popular these videos are going to be, so it's hard to say right now
how long people should seed for. We'll let you know when we figure that
out.
