We can take away from this that your not a fan of Gentoo or Portage because you
feel its users suffer from a narrowness of view in which those who use other
methods or distros otherwise, in your opinion, don't suffer.
Well, all i can respond to that is
A) I never used Gentoo but I'm thinking about trying it. Otherwise I've mostly
used SuSE over the years, and a lot of debian and slackware sprinkled in. I
personally haven't found the followers of any particular distro much different
with regard to their brand loyalty than anyone else.
B) I find it useless to attack people based on their loyalty to any particular
distribution. I do believe, however, that it is essential that people
understand with competency how things work.
