Out of curiosity, anyone know how the iPhone sends and displays email?

I wonder if it manages to collapse quotes so it's users can get to the 
gist of their email, yet at the same time not top post to make the bulk 
of internet email users happy?

Is there a mail client for the blackberry that can function sanely?
