Today they were testing the link to the CO. He said that it will be
ready sometime later this year. He mentioned that because our area has
telephone poles (instead of buried wires?) that run to the individual
houses, it was being installed in our test area. I asked about the
recent /. story about VA vs verizon where the VA said that verzion
poorly maintained copper to later push FIOS. He said they wouldn't do
that but did note the issue of static and line noise with some of the
existing lines.
