It's good to get feedback, and your comments have been noted.

The last interview I went on (1992), a mid-level VP interviewing me went
on and on about this incredible network I was to be hired to oversee.
The problem with it all was that the software it needed did not exist,
and there was every indication it would not exist anytime in the near
future. I got out of there as quickly as possible. I'm sure they hired
someone to direct that project in the short window of time before
Microsoft put an end to the dominance of the software this very large
financial firm was using, and that that person wasted quite a bit of
money pretending to be working on implementing the fantasy this quite
possibly mentally ill VP was determined to bring about.
Overall, the job interviewing process is unpleasant for everyone
involved, but especially the interviewee. Much of what you complain
about is the pretty universal crapping on interviewees can expect 9
times out of 10. Almost no one ever gets that promised call back unless
they want to hire you. Most of the people doing interviews will not
know their ass from their elbow, and the ones that do have no idea how
to conduct an interview that's in any way useful to anyone.
That said, as for our little piece of the process, we will continue
trying to make NYLUG-Jobs the best jobs site we can. We hope our jobs
don't crap on people 9 times out of 10, we're trying to be better than
that. We have great faith in *you* to be better than the general pool
of applicants, so we believe we're providing a better experience for
those looking to hire. (feedback indicates this is so) We don't have
more jobs than say, monster.com, but we're aiming for a better
experience for both job seekers and prospective employers than they get
from those "drive thru window" job sites.
So please keep the feedback coming.
