[nylug-talk] Anyone interested in discussing network infrastructure design?

Well,
As a long time Lugger and Linux aficionado the Lugs have been a great
forum to discuss things that vendors are unwilling to discuss. I've
noticed that many of the responses to my query have been "hire a
professional" or "I've got to eat" and both are sound advise. But I
have hired professionals and as one myself I would like to chew the rag
so to speak with others involved in larger scale networking
implementations (larger = something > one office and/or > 100 nodes).
As one respondent stated, many professionals will tend to steer their
responses towards what benefits them most and I believe this is true.
Thats why I sent several of them packing.
I am getting closer to making final decisions but my questions are
regarding opinions on network structure, equipment manufacturers, VPNs, etc.
Perhaps best covered off list because the topics most likely are not of
interest to most LUG readers.
FWIW - I have eight locations in four states to address.
Thanks,
bobmct
