Essential Job Functions:
o Analyze and configure Apache and Tomcat and related infrastructure
to support Search and related applications
o Development of scripts and programs to support business requirements
o Monitoring of operational environment to insure agreed upon service
levels are being maintained
o Work with 3 party organizations on the configuration and support
of large scale Web and database applications and to insure Service
level agreements are maintained
o Provide management with operational metrics across environments
o Provide first line support for Enterprise applications
o Manage the daily work assignments of a junior technician
o Maintain documentation of environment and associated components
( Programs / Scripts /Cron Jobs etc..)
o Day to day UNIX/Linux support as required
o Develop and execute project plans
Experience:
o Configuration and tuning of high performance Tomcat and Apache
web sites
o Development of Unix scripts and program using other programming
languages (such as Python) to support business requirements
o Unix configuration for Linux and Solaris
o Daily OS administration, production monitoring and support
o Support of large scale public web environment using Apache /
Tomcat / WebSphere
o Use of all common Unix tools to manipulate data, especially web logs
o Working with 3 party hosting companies
* Required Skills:
o Strong technical knowledge of Linux and Solaris
o Configuration knowledge for Solaris and Linux Apache Tomcat etc..
o Solaris/Linux OS Administration skills
o Strong scripting ability using various scripting tools and
languages ¡V shell, Python, Perl
o Knowledge of performance monitoring techniques and tools
o Knowledge of Webservers (Apache, IIS) and Application Servers
( Tomcat WebSphere, JBoss, )
o Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently in a team
environment.
o Excellent communication skills
