Not sure if you require networking/postscript, but here's a good personal 
printer from HP ($200, 5-egg rating):

I use one of these at work (Windoze), and recommended one to a friend 
(Kubuntu), who is very happy with it (requires a little setup, because the 
firmware is loaded from the PC, but it's not a big deal, and is a nice, 
straightforward unit).
