When taking into account that a 1 second delay on the server
side could mean, for example, a customer/user getting
the impression that a web site is taking too long to load;
trundling along might not be sufficient.

Companies spend time measuring response time on servers
and finding why a particular machine takes .5 seconds
longer to respond with a particular software.

But I too would like to see cold hard comparative numbers,
they would be helpful in determining how much slower
a machine would be with software RAID than without.
