Its a question of what your needs are.  If you don't need the excess 
separation, then Xen is overkill.  For this reason is why OpenVZ *may* 
perform better than Xen.

(I haven't seen any real world stuff saying OpenVZ is faster, and doing less 
than Xen is by no means a statement of being faster.  I once read some paper 
by HP and some university comparing Xen and OpenVZ and stating that OpenVZ 
was faster.  I remember it serving as a great reminder of how useless 
academic CS papers are, heh)
