It is technically possible, but I don't know too many admins that would
do that without good reason. Why don't you go and ask them?

I think a more likely scenario is that you are either not connecting
with the proper credentials or using the wrong protocol, IMAP vs
IMAP+SSL vs MultidropIMAP, etc.

But again, check with your admins to be sure.
