Note: same parent company as Newegg, I believe. There are others selling 
"whitebox" notebooks for those interested in DIY. Do a google search on 
"bare bones notebook".

DIY notebooks aren't really that DIY. You have to buy the chassis as a 
whole - LCD, case, keyboard, motherboard, etc. Then you slap whatever 
into it. It might be easier than a full PC, honestly. Not sure that it 
makes a whole lot of sense.
