[nylug-talk] cups runneth over or has a leak?

It took just a few minutes to set up cupsd
with my HP PSC-1315 (1310 compatible) usb printer,
about a month ago.

Last week, it stopped printing.
I spent some time stopping cupsd, restarting it,
etc. to no avail.

Today I started reading docs, looked in /etc/cups
printers.conf showed "stopped" - I supposed something
I did (to try to fix the problem) caused that change.
I stopped cupsd, copied printers.conf.0 and restarted
cupsd, no improvement.

access.log shows GETS and POSTs and all the latter show Success.
error.log shows things like below.

Dropping the printer and re-adding it did not help.
Suggestions appreciated.
