Standard procedure should be to
a) change port on the switch to a known working port
(swap old clean working host to suspected bad port)
do the errors follow the host nic?
b) try a new/different card in the server
do the errors appear on the new server link?
b) revert configuration, mark port bad
(assuming you've changed cables already).
Depending upon how much cooperation you get from your
co-lo provider, you can alternatively swap cables on the host
side to see if the errors follow the host or the network port....
