[nylug-talk] Linux and small operating areas

Hello!
Yes all of you saw the subject correctly. Right now I am endeavoring
to assemble a system to talk to hardware via a parallel port. (Printer
port at the moment.) Currently the intended kernel is one of the 2.2.x
series ones.

If this works, and by the end of the winter looks to be a working
idea, then it might become a Spring candidate for the NYLUG session on
that month's turnout.

My only problem is that of getting my chosen distribution to install
itself properly and actually want to work there.

Unfortunately Brian my idea to do the same with Open Solaris has
chosen to be a non-starter. It looks as if I can't at the moment find
hardware who's interested.
