Use caps - a LOT more expensive. As in 4-5x.

I'd love it, but way too much $$$ right now. Next time ;) we're in the 
market for storage.

Honestly, as bad as Sun is - would it be worse than roll-your-own in 
terms of user experience? Probably not, so not sure that's a huge concern.
