I used to ALWAYS love the "show codes" feature of WP which appeared in a 
separate window on the bottom of the open document.  This is not 
available anywhere else that I know of.
A while back someone was trying to create a plugin for OO to provide 
this feature but I am not aware of it ever being completed.

If anyone knows otherwise, this would be a great place and time to share 
that information.  On the other hand, if anyone has the knowledge it 
would make a great contribution to the OO product.
