Thanks again for all of the feedback.  Someone recommended PuppyOS -  
which looks like it does a lot of what I would like to do - plus it  
has an install to CF option!  Assuming I can get Java 1.5 installed  
on it I think I will be in pretty good shape.

Processing?  Nope - I write my own Java code from scratch - as old  
school as that may seem.  Glad you liked the Dorkbot presentation.   
Speaking of which ... I have been working with a bunch of musicians  
on a compilation CD using IntelligentDesigner (the app I showed at  
Dorkbot last May) which will premier at MonkeyTown in Williamsburg on  
October 13th.
