Thanks to Peter and Andrew for recommending memtest86+ to test my new 3 
Gigs of RAM.  Ubuntu comes with it as a boot option.  I ran it, but it's 
no fun, no blinken lights.  So I simply booted up, and ran my Kubuntu 
playing music, movies, Firefox and Thunderbird, and 3 VMWare virtual 
machines (one a VPN to work) at once.  Now THAT's fun.  KDE SysGuard 
says I'm still using physical RAM.  MAXing out the RAM IS the best 
investment.
