[nylug-talk] Don't use Godaddy if you ever want to get your mail

Ron and George,
FWIW, I started with network solutions back in the early 1990's,
stayed with them for 10 years. Finally moved to domain info
(Sweden); then Gandi.
Gandi was OK, but there came a time when the US govt. decided
that certain credit card transactions with France would be taboo.
I have no idea how or why this happened, but no one at Gandi
was interested in helping me to get the charge approved
(many hundreds of Euros for many domains for 2-year renewals).
There was no way to reach them on the phone.
In frustration I switched to Godaddy about 4 years ago.
I've no complaints, but this is strictly for domain name
registration; NOTHING else.
I've never had a problem. Customer service (phone) reps have
been friendly and only too happy to make sure they can take my
credit card :-). The phone help is always available, and quick.
Never had to spend time on hold.
My 2.5 cents...
