Is it C, J or K?

If it's Japanese, yes Ubuntu is quite simple as is Gentoo.  In both
cases, the input manager she'll probably prefer is scim-anthy.  

I have a page that might be of use (again, this is primarily for

Almost everything but OpenBSD these days is relatively simple for CJK.
