It's actually gone beyond that.  I was contacted a couple of weeks ago
by a recruiter for a firm we all know.  The recruiter wanted to hire me,
based on having "discovered me online".  If you've ever gotten a
"Nigerian scam" or "419" mail, those words sound familiar, I laughed,
but inquired as to where that was.

It seems headhunters are cold-contacting subscribers to open source
mailing lists. Most of them have archives in the search engines.  It
seems things have gone past merely searching jobs sites.
