[nylug-talk] Is it mounted or not ??

In the process of trying to recover from a quantum fireball IDE HD, we're
getting this odd result:

mb at akron: sudo bash
root at akron:# mount -v -t ext2 /dev/hdd /mnt/fam
mount: /dev/hdd already mounted or /mnt/fam busy
root at akron:# umount /dev/hdd
umount: /dev/hdd not mounted
root at akron:# umount /mnt/fam
umount: /mnt/fam not mounted
root at akron: mount -v -t ext2 /dev/hdd /mnt/fam
mount: /dev/hdd already mounted or /mnt/fam busy

So is it mounted or not ?!

Any suggestions would be helpful at this point, must be something obvious,
no?

(As a sidenote we are hoping to be able to write to it, not r.o.)

kerpuzzled,

Matt
