configuring x depends on what you actually have xf86cfg .. would be for
xfree86.. which.. i hope you arent running still.. but hey .. who knows
how old the package is with debian.. (little jab at the debian fiends
out there)

Sounds like you need to do some research.  Not to turn you away.. but no
one wants to rewrite the manuals.. find out if you are runnig Xfree or
Xorg.. then  search how to configure X*** with your distro/card.  The
i815 is well supported.  You can check out lspci for learning about your
hardware.
