[nylug-talk] Video Cards....

Ok, just had a chat with Keith Packard of Intel/xorg dev fame, and I've got
the start of my solution. I'm going to use an SDVO/ADD2 PCI-E adapter with
my integrated intel-based graphics from the motherboard. I had no idea
something like this even existed...

Anyway, its a PCI-E adapter that makes use of the on-board Intel GPU, allowing
single or dual DVI, S-Video, VGA, whatever, based on what you pick up. The
cards are about $40-$80, again, option based, and the existing on-board VGA
will still work. With enough ram & cpu to share, this might just work out.
I'm going to go this route first, and then go with a separate card later if
need be.

However, I'm still hoping to get back an email from XGI regarding their Volari
V8, and their upcoming PCI-E solutions that were supposedly (according to
blogs and such) going to be out last month.
