Arrgh, my website is so dated, and looks dreadful.
I must spend some time improving it...

Wow!
I did experimental particle physics from 1961 (at the
Cambridge Electron Accelerator) with stops at the
Princeton Pennsylvania Accelerator, FermiLab, Berkeley,
and SLAC. I'm on 38 physics papers, none after 1980.
My last particle physics was at the Harvard Cyclotron.
Medical physics: we were using protons to treat
choroidal melanoma, prostate cancer, and one or two
brain cancers. We also began the use of Cat Scans to
aid in treatment planning. Much too depressing.
I gave up and moved to NYC. After a two year stint at
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, I set off as
an independent computer consultant, which has paid
my rent and food since 1980.

Likewise. Italy and France (soccer not-withstanding)
are my two favorite countries in the world. Where
did you study? Milano? My only professional contacts
in Italy were Frascatti, which in addition to
electron positron storage rings, has great white wine.
