I usually just call and tell the RR agent that my modem has two blinking
lights. That usually throws them into a fit and they reset it. I know that
my linux firewall uses DHCP, but generally pulls the same IP address, even
if I have it off the network for a long time. I would bet it has some type
of MAC address table that it uses to distribute IP addresses.
