I have been on RoadRunner in two different regions, both have had NO ISSUE
with linux boxes. I don't have a windows box in my apartment, and my
roadrunner works fine. I have a linux firewall box that acquires my IP from
the cable modem and then that firewall has a second NIC that distributes the
LAN connections. The issue I have run into is support. If you don't have a
Windows or Mac system hooked directly to the cable modem, they don't like to
support you. So when I call because I need my cable modem reset, they ask me
what type of Windows I am running. I just always default to ME, just for fun
:) Then they send a command to reboot the cable modem and it usually
resolve any issues.
