Ecommerce and marketing company looking for a passionate, smart, and
articulate J2EE developer to help grow out and support our core software
products and services. We are a group of young, talented and
hard-working individuals with unique custom software built on
open-source technology.
Acadaca (http://www.acadaca.com) is a growing, entrepreneurial company
located in SoHo. We provide custom eCommerce solutions and search engine
marketing services.
We have built 2 of the top 400 Internet Retailers, and recently licensed
our content management system to one of the most well known web
companies. We are actively looking for another team member. Examples of
some of our work include http://www.efilmgroup.com ,

Responsibilities include:
* Participating in requirements gathering discussions
* Designing database schema changes and J2EE software upgrades to
support new features
* Coordination of feature implementation with other developers.
* Assessing the impact of new features on existing infrastructure
* Providing long term solutions and short term options for common
maintanence requests
* Improving and monitoring application availability (apache, tomcat,
postgres)
* Setting technical policies for coding best practices
* Documenting technical procedures and best practice on intranet wiki
* Implementing and improving deployment procedures for new and existing
applications
* Implementing more formal testing for J2EE applications
* Occassional support on sales calls/meetings where technical input
necessary
Ecommerce experience and familiarity with SEO (Search Engine
Optimization) concepts are real pluses.
Experience with or desire to work in a small entrepenurial environment
is a must -- you will be exposed to every aspect of our business from
marketing to design to project mananagement. Verbal communication skills
are as important as your coding prowess.
# Required Skills:
On a technical level, looking for someone with approximately 2 years of:
* Java and J2EE (tomcat application server experience a plus)
* HTML/CSS
* SQL/stored procedures (postgres experience plus)
* Linux networking and administration
* Apache experience (configuration, vhosts, dns)
