Maybe a good place to start in the study group would be with an 
introduction to Pythonism---why the explicit 'self' parameter, for 
instance. I don't claim to know a great deal about all the whys, but I'm 
sure someone's documented a lot of this stuff somewhere and we could 
make it make sense to all of us.
