The most active group I know about is the NY Zope/Python Users Group.

Based on the results we got from our Alex Martelli presentation in
October, I'd say we've got a large Python community, but for whatever
reason, we don't seem to have a very *active* Python community.  If
you've got an itch to scratch about that, there's people (NYLUG
included) that would help you gather the Python people together, but you
should check out NYZUG and the NYPHP Python SIG first.
