Well if the threads in your application lock up (caused by the violation
in the memory model) it could put a 'damper' on your speed...
A sort of corollary implication is that you may not be able to mix and
match literally any (optimized) Java components -- at least not without
considering the impact of threading -- and being "mix-and-matchable" was
put forth as one of the hallmarks of being enterprise-worthy.
